Suction cup hooks are effective equipment ideal for providing extra hanging space in your bathroom. These strong suction hook cups will create additional space by attaching to surfaces like tiles, cupboards, walls, etc. You can use them to hang towels, sponges, bathrobes, loofahs, and other such things in the bathroom. You can use them to hang aprons, washcloths, utensils, etc. In your living room or bedroom, you can use the suction cup hooks for hanging and organizing your coats, bags, hats, jewelry, etc. Decoration like hanging a welcome signboard, suncatcher, wind chime, bird feeder, flower wreaths, stockings, etc. With all such uses and benefits, these hooks are highly convenient and can be used not just for domestic use but also in office setups to organize certain things.

How to Use Suction Cup Hooks

To attach or stick the suction cup hooks to surfaces, press the center of the hook tightly onto the surface and keep the pressure for about fifteen minutes, then softly release the tension until you find all the air bubbles inside disappearing. As a result, a vacuum will be created that firmly seals the suction hooks to the surface.

For sticking the suction cup hooks to the surface of a wall, a small amount of oil can be applied to the edges or lips of the hooks, which will help the suction cup adhere to that surface. You should always apply the substance you have chosen to the lips of the suction cup to stick to the surface firmly. But while applying it, make sure that you use as little substance as possible because otherwise, the suction cup will lose its suction power.

Why Do Suction Cups Stop Working?

This is a common occurrence when sometimes the suction cups might stop working. This is basically because the suction cup is not perfect, and sometimes when not adequately sealed to the surface, air can gradually get inside the cup. There must be some air differential holding the cup against the wall. Therefore, when there is no air pressure differential, there is no frictional force created, which can help maintain the suction cups firmly against the walls, which will result in the cup falling.

How to Enhance Suction Cup Adhesion?

Firstly, start by cleaning the surface on which you intend to stick the suction cup. You can use soap and water or rub alcohol to de-grease the surface if necessary. Then wipe the surface using a soft cloth.

If you find it necessary, you can clean the suction cups by rinsing them with warm water and soap and then drying them up with a soft cloth. From this, you can tell that both the surface and the suction cup need to be clean to adhere better and create a tight seal. If they are not clean, it can result in the suction cups falling off.

To improve the suction cup's suction and keep the seal tight to the surface, a small amount of Vaseline or oil may be rubbed on the cup's rim, or you can lightly dampen your finger with water and moisten the inner edge of the suction cup hooks. The moistening will help tighten the seal. The holding strength of the suction cup may also depend on its size, which is small, medium, and large. The large can hold 600g, the medium 250g, and the small 125g.
