Multiplexers are Semiconductor integrated circuits typically used to automate and control signal or data transmission in circuitry. A multiplexer is a piece of electronic equipment that chooses to transmit a signal or data input from many digital or analog media and directs it across the circuit, specifically at the time demultiplexers receive the output signals from the multiplexer and receiver’s terminal, transforming them again to the standard form or to the form the user specifies for the device.
Multiplexer Switch ICs select one of the predefined analog or digital input signals and move them to input on a single line. Which input will be connected to which output is determined by the chosen lines.
The output lines of demultiplexer ICs might be either single or multiple. A multiplexer takes two or more signals and encodes them, whereas a demultiplexer does the opposite. This is what distinguishes a multiplexer from a demultiplexer.
There are 2 - 1 multiplexers (1 selection line), 8 - 1 multiplexers (3 selection lines), 16 - 1 multiplexers, and 8 - 1 multiplexers (4 selection lines) available (4 selection lines). Along with numerous logic families, IC pin counts, mount styles, and voltage support options, these devices are also available.
