Epic Contacts the Lapp Group is the leading manufacturer of control cables, established when the Lapp family bought a house in 1957 on Rosentalstraße in Stuttgart-Vaihingen, where the company's founder Oskar Lapp developed the world’s first industrially manufactured control cable “ÖLFLEX”. This remarkable achievement laid the company to a profitable future ahead. At that very time, giving brand names to products to describe them as superior and distinguish them from the similar products of competitors more easily was something entirely new in the cable-supplying markets. The Lapp company has continued to use these brand names. ÖLFLEX is recognized as the most well-known cable brand worldwide in the annals of the industry.
