SIRIUS 3RK3 Modular Safety System - Basic Central Unit The SIRIUS 3RK3 modular safety system (MSS) is a freely parameterizable modular safety relay. Safety oriented applications up to Category 4 according to EN 954-1, Performance Level e according to ISO 13849-1 or SIL3 according to IEC 62061 can be reached depending on the external circuit version. The modular safety relay enables the interconnection of several safety applications. The comprehensive error and status diagnostics provides the possibility of finding errors in the system and localizing signals from sensors. Plant downtimes can be reduced as the result. 3RK3 Basic Central Unit The SIRIUS 3RK3 basic central unit is used wherever more than three safety functions have to be analyzed and where parameterizing the wiring of safety relays would be time consuming and expensive to implement. This safety relay reads inputs and controls outputs and communicates with higher level controllers via an interface module. The entire safety program of an application is processed in the central unit. Flexi Soft Safety Controller, Main unit - FX3 CPU000000 Flexi Soft is a programmable and modularly expandable safety controller capable of being integrated into various networks. The main module FX3-CPU is the CPU of the entire system within which all input signals are monitored and processed via the safety logic stored in the memory plug. These signals are then used to switch outputs on the system through the FLEX BUS+ interface which connects all units to one another. The main unit has an RS-232 interface with which the Flexi Soft Designer can upload and change system settings. Vital Safety Controller, Base Unit The Vital safety device from ABB is the heart of a new solution which makes it possible to install/connect many different types of safety device in the same safety circuit and still achieve safety category 4 in accordance with EN 954-1/EN ISO 13849-1. The Vital module is based upon a dynamic single-channel concept as opposed to conventional dual-channel safety relays. ABB have designed this unit to accommodate up to 30 dynamic sensors within the safety circuit which can be supervised by one Vital module. The Vital unit can therefore replace several safety relays. Safety components with output contacts can be connected to the Vital via low cost Tina adaptors. The Vital also has automatically or manually supervised reset selection, dual safety outputs, and an information output for reset indication and status information for PLC's. Pluto Safety PLC, Base Unit Pluto from ABB is an "All-Master" safety PLC concept, which simplifies the design of safety systems and achieves the highest safety category 4 according to EN 954-1. All Pluto's are Master units and can see the other Pluto's inputs, outputs and global memories. This enables the Pluto to evaluate the information from the other Pluto's and then take decisions concerning its own safety devices. The Gateway units are available for several different bus systems, i.e. Profibus ( 733-4836 ), CanOpen ( 733-4830 ), Devicenet ( 733-4849 ) and Ethernet ( 733-4842 ). Of Pluto's inputs (the smallest unit has 16 I/O), thus can be configured as either inputs or outputs. In the Pluto family by ABB most modules have dual safety outputs - potential free or PNP types. In a two-wire bus system up to 32 Pluto units can be safely connected and communicate with a superior system via a Gateway or HMI displays. Therefore within a maximum extended system 1472 I/O's can be connected. Also all input components may be connected in series for even more complexity and optimisation.
