What are Current Sensors?

Current integrated sensors are typically designed to measure both AC voltage and DC voltage, which are also classified into two classes:

  • In-line sensors - Come with mounted, which is an integral component of the circuit.
  • Clamp-type sensors - can be fastened across the wire to be evaluated.

Current Sensors Emerging Technologies

  • Hall Effect - A Hall Effect device and signal processing circuitry make up Hall Effect sensors. In order for sensors to function, a current conductor must pass through a magnetically permeable core that concentrates the magnetic field of the conductor. When the energized Hall device is exposed to the core's magnetic field, a potential difference that can be detected and amplified is created.
  • Inductive - Inductive sensors make use of a coil that a wire is carrying current travels through. The power that is proportionate to the current flows as a result in the coil. The present flow can then be evaluated or modified.
  • Magnetoresistive - The effect of a current flowing through a plate is the ability of some materials to alter the resistance value. Resistance rises and falls over a greater distance as the current moves more and farther.
