They are made in varying sizes, from small circuit equipment that secures low-current breakers or personal household appliances to bigger switchgear manufactured to protect high voltage breakers feeding a whole city or village. Generally, the circuit breaker or fuse function is an automatic way to sense that unfavorable conditions mean stopping power from a defective system that can cause further destruction. Circuit Protective Devices Importance  

Protective equipment is significant because it allows that under severe conditions, a high voltage power fault cannot flow. Types of Circuit Protection

Fuse 

A fuse has a unit of wire that can break very easily. If the power supply passing through the fuse is too high a voltage, then the wire heats up until it splits and breaks the circuit.

There are many different types of fuses: 

BS3036 Rewireable Fuses

They are typically used in household breaker protection and are economical; they can be repaired and checked easily to see if they’ve blown. But they are complicated, can be abused by fitting inappropriate fuse wire, and are capable of containing very hot metal. 

BS 88 High Breaking Capacity Fuses (HBC)

They are frequently installed in industrial and motor circuit applications. They are fast and reliable operating devices, change easily, are highly accurate, and have no outsider arcing. Replacing them is too costly.
