I needed an outlet outside my sliding patio door to make it easier to plug in my smoker and fan which I keep on the patio in front of the living room and I have run the extension cord through my sliding door which has always jammed my door to close completely , which always brought flies. With so many options available in exterior outlet covers, I decided on this one based on the reviews, ease of installation, and affordability. I'm not an electrician and only rent this house, but I wanted to get it right. This was easy to install however I had to remove it a few times to fix some threads. The weather resistance seems to be adequate but I think it could be better but for the price it will be fine. If I did it again, I'd get a box that allows me to plug in a cable and still have the lid closed. Which is of course whenever anything is placed in the lid it is wide open. I might even get one in the future. Overall this waterproof cover works well.
