The Loctite 243, ML thread and pipe sealant are specifically designed for sealing and locking thread fasteners that need normal disassembly by using standard handheld tools. It cures when confined in the absence of air between close fittings and metal surfaces and also restricts any loosening and leakage from vibration and shock. This product is mainly composed of methacrylate and offers strong curing performance.

Furthermore, it has thixotropic properties, which decrease the transfer of any liquid product after it is applied to the substrate. This is useful on active metals like brass, copper, etc. but works best on passive substrates such as plated surfaces and stainless steel. It exhibits high-temperature performance and has oil-resistant properties. It can tolerate minor surface contamination from different oils, such as cutting, anti-corrosion, lubrication, and protection fluids.
