Panasonic Electronic Components ERZ-U21JP222H is an electronic component manufactured and distributed by Panasonic, used as a varistor ZNR surge absorber for thyristor mainly designed to shield the thyristor power controller and the power source of thyristor from high energy passing overvoltage. Zinc-Oxide Non-linear resistor, abbreviated as (ZNR), generally known as zinc oxide ZnO has voltage-current characteristics, with which the ZNR absorbs the negative surge voltage instantly to protect electronic devices from the overloaded voltage.
Compared to a traditional selenium surge absorber, the ZNR is smaller and has superior clamping voltage characteristics. Type J is for heavy-duty applications, while Type E is for transformers with relatively modest handling capacities.
