Types of Soldering Irons

There are three common types of soldering irons

Gas Powered

Gas-powered soldering irons are fueled by butane gas and are lead-free. It is sored in a tank or reservoir that can be refilled or replaced depending upon the type. These soldering irons are more suitable in areas with no central power available where soldering will occur. These are also cordless, giving the flexibility and portability required for working in tight spaces.

Electric Powered

Electric powered soldering irons are plugged into the mains, due to which they can maintain a consistent temperature. These are commonly found in school’s technology departments and workshops. This makes these irons ideal for repetitive work.

Battery Powered

Battery-powered soldering irons run by rechargeable or replaceable batteries, making them easy to operate. These models are also cordless.
